Statement of faith

The following outline does not attempt to encompass all the richness of the biblical message. This Statement of Faith simply puts forward certain declarations of Scripture which are fundamental and clearly expressed. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we desire to confess, proclaim and live these truths.

a) We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.

b) We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

c) We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in His power and glory.

d) We believe that for the salvation of sinful and lost man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

e) We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

f) We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved rise to eternal life and they that are lost, to God’s eternal judgement.

g) We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.

h) We believe in the mission of the Church as set out by Christ in the Great Commission:

“Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to the whole creation”. (Mark 16:15)
